i can’t get over how evil it is that “gap in your resume” is considered a valid reason to not hire someone like “hmmm sorry you weren’t working constantly every day of your life we need people who do nothing but work until they drop dead for us we just don’t think you’re right for the job” fuck youuuu
after helping to interview with my manager a few times, I think I’ve successfully trained them out of asking about these. we don’t need to know! the person could have been unwell! caring for a family member! literally anything and you do not have to satisfy your curiosity about it! what’s important is “does the rest of the CV give the impression they can do the job?”
