But if a Bad Thing happens part of you is seared into place, and trapped for ever at that time. The rest of you moves onward, dealing with all the todays and tomorrows, but something, some part of you, is left behind. That part blocks the light, colours the rest of your life, but worse than that, it’s alive. Trapped for ever at that moment, and alone in the dark, that part of you is still alive.

Going to start unfollowing people who get uppity about Kindles or other eReaders. I understand people who don’t like them, but then there’s the special snowflakes who think that they’re better for preferring books. Kindles are practical and incredibly useful to some people. They have not single-handedly destroyed bookshops, that has also been influenced by the current economic climate and thousands still survive. Books will always survive, but Kindle are sometimes the more sensible option. It pisses me off, if you think that reading on a kindle isn’t real reading because it’s not on a page, you’re missing the point.

I’m looking for hope.:

Hell yes.

I got an eReader about ¾ years ago now – I couldn’t wait for the Sony one to come out here and I definitely couldn’t wait for the Kindle (which, bizarrely, I just don’t like the sound of – but I have irrational dislikes for certain electronic items, it’s one of my quirks) aaaaaand I weighed it up and went for the Bookeen Cybook.

Which is like total luddite tech now, but I still <3 it.

Cybook = handy for reading on the train

Paper book = handy for reading in a bubble bath
