Frank Turner – Wembley Arena Friday 13th April.
Was Amazing! 🙂
No matter how much I ache now, it was totally worth it.
Wembley = amazing. Every song brought people together, made us dance and sing and have the best possible time. And it’s not even just teenage fangirling – there were six year olds and sixty year olds alike, all enjoying Frank because his songs mean something to everyone. This is the soundtrack to our lives that will still be epic and relevant in years to come.
It’s a ridiculously brilliant achievement, going from tiny Nambuca gigs to selling out a massive fucking arena. Well done Frank. And well done to the fans that got him there, sung along tonight and helped me have the best gig in years. Thanks.I think I had too much over-priced Wembley beer.
Aha omg. I think I’ve lost my voice. And I hurt all over. I think I’m getting old. About half-way into the evening those seats were looking pretty attractive from the standing section…
BUT YES. I’m still a little over-excited from last night and selling out Wembley Arena is an amazing achievement for someone who essentially… doesn’t get talked about on TV or in the newspapers. All the mums and dads I saw with their kids weren’t just there to keep an eye on their offspring, but they were totally rockin’ out too and having an ace time (even that one old guy who almost elbowed me in the face 5 times (bloody tall people with poor spatial awareness;))).
Of course, I don’t think any of them were rockin’ out as much as Frank’s mum. Officially the second greatest mum ever (after my own, obvs).
Oh God. I hurt.
Today marked the start of my 3 day Frank Turner epic trip. I went to the Xtra Mile pre show at the Barfly and got to see Billy Bragg and Frank Turner cover Bob Dylan in such a small venue.
It sounds so queer but it was really quite emotional. Powerful stuff.
Onwards, to Wembley!
Guess where I was last night?
😀
With that in mind, a lot of people have been asking for the times for the show on Friday. Sorry I couldn’t post this earlier, we’ve been working through logistics. But this is the final running order for the show.
- Doors at 6pm sharp!
- Beans On Toast on at 7pm
- Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip at 7.30pm
- Billy Bragg at 8.15 pm
- Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls at 9.15pm
- Show finished by 11pm

OMG EXCITE
AHAHAA OMG LOOK WHAT JUST ARRIVED OMG
I think it will be supporting Bruce at Hyde Park maybe? I hope it’s something to do with the UK anyway!
In my dreams it would be Frank Turner at Wembley but that’s doubtful I feel.
I have tickets for both of these things soooo I would be SUPER happy if they did 😀
AHAHAHA YES.
The best post is unexpected forgotten post. I bought this like… ages ago and it has finally arrived. 😀
Signed Frank Turner dvd FTW 😀
I realise that on stage, Frank is possibly the sweatiest man ever. But still.
