wilwheaton:

This is a typical Chris Brown supporter on Twitter. This makes me so sad.

He beat Rihanna so severely, he put her in the hospital, and there are people in the world who are totally okay with that because he’s a famous musician. Well, I am not one of those people. Violence against women is never, ever, ever okay. Chris Brown should be shunned from public life, as should all batterers.

I do not understand all of these “fans” defending Chris Brown. Is it because it was Rihanna that was hospitalised? Are they somehow jealous of her for being a successful pop star and formerly dating their musical idol? Is it because she’s black?

If Chris Brown had violently assaulted their mothers or sisters or female cousins or nieces or best friends, would they still be defending him so vehemently?

I don’t get it. As far as I’ve seen in the press, he has shown no remorse for his actions. It even seems like he’s proud for getting away with it. Is this really a good thing?
