btw my morning began with shadow identity and it gave me power to live this day (seriously).
My raging crush on Alec Empire is much the same as the one I have on China Mieville.
In the Zombie Apocalypse, I would definitely eat his brain.
a lot of cool music in s6k podcasts but the real gems are in parts 21-23 (and 24 coming next monday) – lengthy interview with Alec Empire called Hell in the Mind of Empire.
I still haven’t found anywhere an answer to a simple question – why did Alec called himself Empire, quite a pretentious name isn’t it? but suites him just perfectly 🙂 and there’s actually not much hell in his mind, just a lot to talk about.
Just listened to this podcast and it has done nothing to make me want to eat Alec’s brain any less. Sorry dude. You’re going to have to be less articulate and interesting if you want to come off my “brains to eat first when the zombie apocalypse comes” list.

Alec spent most of the gig at the back of the stage, working the decks. Eventually he did come out to do some kickboxing and crowd surfing. Alec looks amazing, it must be said: jet black hair, handsome looks… this man doth not ageth. Marry me, you bastard!

I can’t remember whether I got into Atari Teenage Riot or Alec Empire’s solo work first but this track (along with The Ride) is certainly up to the standards Empire set with ATR. A thumping, lumbering, droning abomination of a track. And as for the video… hot goth chicks, subversion, a club full of renegade reject clones and the frankly brilliant inclusion of black Monroe clones, superb.
