I believe that all music is inevitably coded with emotional notions and social ideas of the person who created it. I’m half Japanese, half American, but lived most of my life in Germany. I’ve been exposed to racism and sexism more than once in my life. Often the subtle attacks are the worst, but I never saw myself as a victim. These are some of the topics and experiences, among other influences, that I process in my own music, as well as in ATR, but in a different way and style.
