This is where we stayed on the last holiday I went on with my Dad. There’s a lighthouse just a smidge more inland than this which has about 6 cottages around it.

The Lizard is the most southerly point in mainland Britain apparently.

Also, the foghorn on the lighthouse sounds like the noise that the butcher that went round my mum’s old neighbourhood when she was a kid made.

Also, also, who knew that you had to wear earplugs nearly all the time while chilling out next to a lighthouse in September?

Saying goodbye to your father is never easy.

All of the father-child goodbye stuff in Pacific Rim kills me every time because it takes me right back to the last time I said goodbye to my own Dad and had no idea that it was the last.

Pacific Rim is yet another of a whole host of things that I would have loved to share with him.
